swift sundance 590rs
Hi everyone I was away this weekend in first time in my swift Sundance 590rs 2008 and first night we got to site plugged into ehu all worked perfect 12v side of things and the 240 side late when we arrived so didn’t fill the water until next morning
After doing that turned the water on for the first time and all worked well then all of sudden 12v side all stopped working the pannel wouldn’t light up only if I started the engine but can’t operate the water or lights then
I went and bought a new leisure battery checked every fuse trips online fuse everything seems ok all I could hear was a relay clicking in the fuse board I got 12v at the battery can someone suggest what to start checking please I know people say the charger but surely a brand new battery should be enough to start the pannel first
Thanks any help appreciated

A clicking relay suggests a low voltage, but you have a new battery. Try checking the tightness of the terminals.

Similar to ours which was due to our solar, took out fuse in solar (both cab and hab) and worked fine
They don't like too much amps (or something) going in so it's being sorted back at the dealer
It's happened twice now

Yes all terminals checked and tight

Was the replacement battery fully charged?

12v at the battery that's low but should give you something, maybe you have some kind of low volt relay thingy that turns DC side off...is your 240 mains charger switched on

I’ve currently got it on charge going to try it again this morning and make sure it is all I had yesterday after driving 4hrs was a flickering luminated pannel that I couldn’t see anything on or turn on/off Etc

Yes it was switched on like I said first night everything worked great and I didn’t switch anything off other than I filled the tank with water and put the water on then it all went down frustrating

I think you need a few voltage measurements, to see what is going on. First, the leisure battery when on charge. Then when it's finished charging and you disconnect it, leave it standing for an hour and measure its resting voltage, should be over 12.5V, maybe 12.6V to 12.8V.

Disconnect the EHU, and the solar if it's easy to do. Then connect the leisure battery. Measure the battery voltage again to be sure it's not being discharged.

Then before you try the water again, try the lights to see if they work, and check the battery voltage again.

If the lights work, try the water, and measure the battery voltage while the water pump is running. Can you hear the water pump running, or is it jammed?

Hi thanks for the reply I checked all the voltage as it was a new battery and was holding 12.8 v no problem there but when plugged into ehu no change in voltage at battery
So realised that the problem is with the charger unit/transformer in the van and also the fuse control board I’ve sent these off to applejack electronics to be repaired and awaiting their return they were very helpful over the phone and it sounded like they new what the problems were as they explained they have fixed a large amount of these boards
