Loose oil filter & leak

Having not used the MH for a month, yesterday after starting the engine a very small puddle of oil appeared under the engine. I found the oil filter was loose. After tightening no further leak.
What would cause the filter to loosen ? Or perhaps it wasn’t fitted correctly in the first place.
Any ideas ??

Never known one to come loose, my money is on it was never tightened up

Got called out to a breakdown, losing oil after a service.
When I looked it had the wrong filter fitted and trying to tighten it simply jumped the threads.

Over tightening and jumping the thread is quite possible. Some mechanics don't know their own strength.

Everything of mine has been fine right up until it wasn't.

For the price of them just fit a new one.
