Looking for recommendation for a night stop near Barnstaple Devon

There were a couple of council owned car parks that allowed overnighting. If it has to be Barnstaple ? However just a few miles further on at Appledore ,a council car park overlooking the water ,£5 from
8 pm - 10 am . Nice little town ,pubs restaurants, fish & chips .

Yes,also Bideford,Westward Ho,Torrington andHolsworthy do the same.
For foc you can use Blackmoor Gate.Pub over the road.
