hello

i have been looking for a motorhome and i have a specific set of requirements. I joined here in the hope that you good people might help.

-Not too young say pre 2007

-Ideally based on a VW although might consider a Renault, Ford or even a Jap Import

-Petrol and/or LPG. if just petrol i will be looking to convert to LPG.

GRP main body, was looking at autosleepers, are there any others out there? def no aluminium, it really screws me up and givess me headaches.

Must be reasonably tough because i use farm tracks quite a bit.

as an aside are there any 4 x 4 motorhomes out there, or any chassis that can be converted to 4 x 4? this is not so important but could be useful further down the line.

any help gratefully received!

regards

Why petrol.....
Under powered, uneconomical and even less power on LPG.
You'll be had pressed to find a petrol van less than maybe 20 years old and from memory the biggest engine was 1.9ltr.....couldnt pull back a bedsheet.

If you want petrol you probably need to look at some of the American imports.

If you are worried about polution and the environent forget motorhoming.
The idea of motorhoming is totally anti environent.
You drive a brick around to pointless places, stop for a few nights, then on to somewhere else for a few nights, then eventually back home, all this does is use fuel, pollute the atmosphere, create congestion on roads, increase noise, require more waste managment systems, park in fields which could be left wild or farmed.
Then you want a 4 + 4 driving pointlessly 2 more wheels and the extra weight of the diff and gearbox.
To be enviromently friendly use a cycle and stay in people's home b and b, remember to eat organic vegetarian breakfasts though.
Personally can't wait to get my suitably powered 7.5m van to spend serious time on the road.
