Hi fellow van folk
I am in a real pickle with a sliding door on my Renault Master that keeps coming off the rails when opening. I had it fixed at a garage in the UK before leaving but it happened again at a park up here in Spain. I had help from a kind van couple to get all rollers back on the rails and close it back up properly, and locked doors while driving.
I have found a Renault workshop not far away in Almería that have a 5* rating and have been able to book me in for next week.
However, in a moment of stupidity while rushing around doing water etc yesterday I forgot and went to open the sliding door, and it came off the rails again I had some help to put it back on but I can see it is not fully closed and that not all wheels of the middle roller are inside the middle rail, and I feel too dodgy about driving it around like this.
I believe I know what needs to be done to temp fix but really it is minimum 2 person job as the door is so heavy and needs one person inside the van and one outside to manipulate things back into place. And if I start trying to do it myself and the door comes fully off the rails again, I am putting myself back in a trickier situation again.
So I'm currently looking for a mobile mechanic around here to come to the campsite where I'm parked in Cabo de Gata to help me to fix it shut securely until I have my appointment with the Renault garage next week.
I found info on another forum about an English mobile mechanic in the area, but no luck yet getting through yet - so I wanted to reach out here in case if anyone in the van hivemind might have any leads for a mobile mechanic in the Cabo de Gata/Almería area
Sorry for the essay! Thank you if you kept reading this far Safe and happy travels
