Hi I am looking to stop over in Northumberland and would welcome any info on decent sites that are dog friendly. Thanks

Northumberland is a big county so are you planning Tyne Valley area, coast, Cumbria Border, Cheviots, border with Scotland, Kielder lake and forest?

You could tour for a couple of weeks and there would still be more to see

But don’t tell everyone how beautiful and unspoilt it remains.
Want to keep it just the way it is 😂😂

Isn’t that right MattR 👍👍

Corbridge Rugby Club.
Twice Brewed Inn - For the gap that used to have a Sycamore tree in it!
Beadnell Bay C&CC site, or car park (reserve in advance with Northumberland County Council)
Bamburgh Castle car park. Reserve as above.
Enjoy wherever you end up

Lovely site, nice dog walk in the woodlands and well placed for visits to Bamburgh, Seahouses, Alnwick and the awesome coastline!

We went last June and stayed in Bellingham - handy for Cragside which is a fascinating National Trust place, The Barn at Beal which is only a mile from Holy Island and has fantastic views if you pick the right pitch, Springhill Farm which was a decent walk into Seahouses (Farne Island is a great boat trip if you like puffins) and is handy for Bamburgh Castle and Dunstan Hill which was very pleasant and a bus ride to Alnwick and its castle. We don’t have a dog but I assume they’re all dog friendly.

Beadnell Caravan and Camping club site is a good location and a great base for 2-3 nights. Not badly priced if you qualify for ACR discount (060s). Right on the coast, About 1.5 mile easy walk along the coast to Seahouses, 2-3 mins of mins to Beadnell where there’s a couple of pubs and fish and chip van. On a bus route to Seahouses if you don’t want to walk, great coastal journey south to Alnwick and back, north to Bamburgh. Also Northumberland Council parking at Beadnell. Was £12pn book online.

There’s a good article in this months MMM about Bellingham. Made it sound so good I want to go, and I used to live there 😂.
I like it a lot and have been 3 times now, organised a WildAx Owners' Group meet there last year and everyone loved it!

As mentioned coastal or inland, if inland Herding Hill is good for visiting the Roman Wall, the Milecastle Inn is a short level walk, Haltwhistle is 15-20 minutes uphill on the return. There are some great walks and cycling and of course it’s in the Dark Sky area, I only live 2 miles away but stayed over Christmas when our daughter visited. There are many excellent sites in our wonderful unspoilt county just let us know where then we can advise/recommend.

Hi dogs aren't allowed on the Farne Islands. A good walk is to park at Ross and walk through the Ross Link dunes to beach, it's a lovely quiet beach, the walk North to the needle is scenic.
