Mine's useless, so I need a replacement.

When I get it out and try to unfurl it, it just wants to coil back up again. This means it won't straighten properly so any waste water I pass through it gets sort of stuck in the kinks and bends. Short of doing the syphon method it means I spill it where I don't want to when I disconnect it (and sometimes I can't get rid of everything).

So my question - what kind of pipes do you guys use for running your grey waste from underneath your MH to a ground level drain hole? Is there a technique for using the sort of corrogated grey ones (that come up for every search) that I need to know?

edit - I just found this thread which I didn't on first searching which is interesting.

You need to use your new heavyweight crimping tool to hold down the other end of your long floppy thing to stop it curling back up.(y):giggler::getmecoat:

I use 1.25m lengths of 40mm black corregated hose fitted with CAK tanks threaded joints, as used in aquaria, carp ponds etc. Keep them in a bag and have one with a 90 degree fitting to drop into floor grid. MH end is a push fit onto tank outlet. Works well as I only assemble the length I need. Also have an RV "slinky" hose support but that's a bit OTT, useful though on uneven ground.

Have been using a long corrugated snake with a few add ins if necessary, joined with pipe connectors. Have got fed up with trying to get it back i it’s bag! So we have splashed out on an eight piece collapsed system plus an angle to bring it down from the collapse funnel we already had. Used it for the first time last week, only needed three bits to drain to trees. Worked really well. No kinking, easy to assemble and disassemble. Not cheap but seems worth it.

The good quality ones are thick "rubbery like" plastic and don't unfurl. the cheap ones, usually shop bought, are thin, lightweight not very maleable plastic that tries to recoil when unfurled. The latter type needs pegging down or holding. The better ones don't.
Personally I almost always avoid using a pipe.

I try to empty over a drive-over drain mostly, but I've been to a few sites where I can't do that. Not sure what choice I have other than to use a pipe?

I found a Gardena tap adapter pushed on to the drain tap nozzle. I then use a female fitting on a length of old garden hose.
I have a short length of hose if we use the waste container or a longer length for service pitches or a drain I can’t drive over.

I suppose it depends on the size of your tank and how long you stay on any site. We have a 180 litre tank and move on every few days so emptying the grey water never becomes critical and can wait until a suitable place arises. Haven't used the pipe for at least two years.
