Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
I put this together for one of my 'Hells Anginas' bike club monthly meetings. It may distract Funster bikers (who can't think of any fettling to do) from sniffing petrol in the shed.
The answers (some are amusing/surprising) with repeats of the questions are here:

Hmm. I always thought that Peter Fonda's bike was called Captain America.
I stand to be corrected though.
Great quiz, some very interesting answers.
I never liked Phil Read.

Oops!
You're absolutely right.
Answer to Qu. 2 is 'Wyatt' (not 'Captain America' which was the name given to his Harley).

(In mitigation I cribbed some of the questions and answers from elsewhere so didn't double check their correctness, but I'm pretty sure the rest are correct).

I never liked Phil Read.
He wasn't much liked.
He left his helmet on my bike in the paddock following a race and I didn't notice til much later. I didn't rush to take it back to him. He hadn't remember that when 40 years later he signed it for me to sell for charity at an autojumble.
In fact I never did manage to sell it for some reason or other.
