Does anyone know if the small black plastic clips that locate the "rods" on the door mechanism can be purchased seperately? It is for a Hartal door fitted to a Carthago Chic E Line. The picture attached shows the location of the one that is now missing because it decided to break. Also, are there any other parts in this mechanism that I should "service" as the external door handle does not always open the door without applying pressure to the outside of the door prior to operating the handle.

There are similar clips on many vehicle door mechanisms and cheap enough to try one of these

Also sounds like the latches are a little too tight if you have to press the door closed to open it? This possibly strained the rod and pinged the clip off?

Oh yes Paul, don't we know!
Sorry Lazyboy i don't where to source the clips you refer to however i have had the same problem you describe.

Firstly my motorhome supplying dealer very helpfully informed me there are no servicable parts to the door. I would need a complete new frame and door unit unless i could re-engineer (bodge) it !

Firstly, with a small file i gently rounded off the edge on the door post catches which did help but not totally solve the problem.
You may find your real fault lies in one of the two shafts buried in the mechanism which the outer handle pivots on has sheared.

Luckily, with two mates we managed to strip the unit then glue the shaft together with 2 part epoxy.
That was a couple of months ago and fingers crossed all is still good (y)

All the best
