Replacing my leadacid set up with a 300AHr Fogstar Drift and looking at putting a fuse directly on the positive terminal with one of these

Amazon Link

Anybody got a view on these. There's also a 2 stud version but not sure I'd be comfortable with one of them. They take the cube fuses - link

I would always trust a fuse from a reputable company such as Blue Sea Systems who manufacture terminal fuse systems. Always use their or Bussman original fuses though

I didn't know Blue Sea did them, they would be fine but I wouldn't use an unknown brand like the one in the original link.

A Mega fuse would be a lot easier to source reacements for if needed.

That is a good consideration and reminder that I need to get spares!

Use a genuine blue sea Marine rated battery fuse. Don't use the cheap knock off that amazon sell.
The amazon one is undersized physically and the black isolator in no way compares to that of the blue sea original.

The amazon one has no defined origin, I wasted money on one and binned and replaced with genuine blue sea items.

I'm in favor of MRBF fuses vs mega, much better protection; however, as already mentioned a reputable fuse make no knock off's.
12v planet do a nice selection.

Thanks to all. I had never seen these before starting my research and good to know they're used by many - but with a good known brand.

Bought extensively from 12V planet before Brexit, Can't now so will need to see is there an Irish supplier I can buy from. Quick google shows chmarine.com but I'd need to sell one of my kidneys -hikes

A single fuse alone is not appropriate. You still need a bus bar with the correct value fuses for each circuit.

Yup. Already in the plans but I'm uncomfortable with even a few inches of unfused 35mm cable coming from something that can supply 250amps so wanted to fuse as close to the terminal as possible before going to busbar. Anything coming from the busbar will be appropriately fused for the cable attached.

I use one on my 100ah lithium when I fitted the inverter.
Like you say could not get nearer to battery and solved my lack of space under the passenger seat.
Carry some spare fuses just in case because I doubt you can find then off the shelf.

I would echo other comments about buying genuine Blue Sea Systems products from reputable suppliers. One point to note, the fuse holder has a mate stud but M10 hole. My battery has mate machine screws so I made M10-mate spacers as from an engineering perspective an 8mm screw in a 10mm hole didn't feel right. In reality it probably makes no difference as it's the flat surfaces of the battery and fuse holder that are providing the electrical contact.
