light deflectors

i have an A class with round lights do i need deflectors on the lights in France etc
Shine the lights at a wall and look at the pattern. It's probably a very shallow v-shape along the top of the beam. In UK, the right-hand half of the beam is horizontal and the left-hand half slopes up slightly to the left, to illuminate the nearside verge and road signs better.

If you could change the angle, the left-hand half could be made horizontal, and the right-hand half would then slope up slightly to the right, to illuminate the nearside verge and road signs when driving on the right outside the UK.

If you look at the light mounting you will see that you can slacken two of the screws, and remove a third screw, and the light will in fact rotate to the correct new position. Then there is another screwhole just right for the third screw to be replaced.

Some A Class headlights have the facility to alter the beam with a lever to the side of each light. I've set both of mine in the lower position so that the light pattern is flat and ok to use in Europe - as well as the UK. I do lose the higher light along the kerb from the left light, but not found it a problem when driving in the UK.
Perhaps check out a model-specific internet group for a definative answer - or just try google
