Hi, we are looking at a low profile coachbuilt with the option of a light bar above the cab, does anyone have one or something similar fitted and know if this would be noisy when driving, we aren’t really fussed about it but it is included in a package of other things. Many thanks for your input.

Anything sticking out makes noise - rain deflectors, solar panels, wing mirrors, aerials.
If it's an oval bar then noise should be minimal. If it's covered in spot light then louder. But then most MH don't have a reputation for being quiet on the move anyway.

I doubt you'll notice it over the other noises. 😁

It is on a Euramobil so I was assuming it would be as quiet as a Morelo in there🤭🤞
I've yet to own a quiet motorhome, they all make some noise as you're effectively driving a brick , I doubt a light bar will make that much noise.

I was actually considering fitting one above the windscreen on my mobilvetta , I would have liked to install a sun visor but can't find one to fit this.

I have had both fitted on previous vans though and can't say I noticed and noise . And it was a pvc capable of faster speeds than my current van .

Many thanks, I thought there might be a few more people with van conversions with them on, they do seem popular at the moment

Yes I think people are more concerned with drilling holes in coachbuilds etc than pvc vans.

I'd like to fit something like this I had on my sprinter to the front of my a class ...then with a light bar or a couple of small spotlights attached

Not been in a Morelo that was moving, but our Euromobil is hardly "quiet". Road and tyre noise is the biggest, followed by engine noise and then usual niggling rattles. Yes it's much quieter than the previous Bessacarr, but not on a par with most cars.

Just a reminder:
Any lights used on the public roads need to be mounted forward of the front axle.

Light bars, bull bars, roof mounted rally lights, etc are all items designed for vehicles that spend a proportion of their life off road

That's why I want one.

P.s whether designed or not if you're on quiet dark country roads then extra lights are extremely helpful.

Personally I very rarely drive in the dark but the lights look cool so I'd still fit them.

Granted its not everyone's cup of tea , but then that's the beauty of modifications it can make something different from the rest.

One of the things I hate about motorhomes is how they all tend to look pipe and slippers.

PVCs are slightly better but totally impractical for me.

Completely understand

For many years I drove a LWB Landrover Defender.
In it's previous life it had been a support vehicle for the Lombard RAC Rally.

It had a pair of 12" full Rally lights mounted on the bar at the front, controlled with an on/off switch that meant you had the option of them coming on when you clicked full beam (and were therefore MoT compliant)

The Rally lights used to light up the lanes of Cornwall like it was daylight!
And if I got cut up, even in brightly lit central London, I'd just turn on the lights and leave them on.
It would turn the inside of the windscreen of the car in front into a mirror, meaning they could not see out.
Very very effective!

As for the pipe and slippers look for many Motorhomes, I think the Germans are getting the message, Check out the new Hymers

That’s the look of it, it is the new Euramobil xtura I like the look and the awd is really useful to us but with the rack on it is just over 3m so French tolls will increase, but definitely not pipe and slippers 😰 not yet anyway 😊
