Getting Better
Had a little dabble at insurance quotes comparison sites which I don’t normally do… but these came up with a good quote, nearly half the price of my current (comfort) insurance….

Policy documents are similar… underwritten by KGM services

Anyone heard of them or had experience…?

Not very good reviews on trust pilot

Only 49 reviews though, mostly caravans and not answering the phone…

For me the Bottom line is will they pay out, same as any insurance company I suppose…🤔

Lifesure.... originally MHIA ( Motorhome Insurance Agency).
Been with them for 20+ yrs.
Motorhome, and both cars.
Annual renewal never much more, sometimes cheaper than last year.
Over years had 3 claims.. one car stolen and one car accidentally written off and one moho body ( my fault) damage. Plus 2 windscreen claims.
Quick phone call and all was sorted..
Absolutely no problems... indeed when Mrs Poppycamper slid of road on ice and totalled her car the payout was so impressive we used it to buy our first and only brand new car..
Recommended them many times on here in the past..
When I was getting my van converted they could not be more helpful in what I needed to do to insure van before, during and after conversion..
Ps don't believe the not answering phone claims..... they always, but always answer phone.

Is it a proper Motorhome policy, i. e. Covers plastic windows, fire from on board gas, awning etc.

I’ve had a good read at the policy wording and it covers what I need, some reviews are confusing because of caravans where one awning wasn’t covered because it’s detachable.. ie. Caravan awning but fixed awnings are covered.

No plastic windows in my van Lenny so didn’t notice if they were…

But it is a specific motorhome/camper policy….

They don’t cover Morocco though like most but I will be calling LV today and see what they quote..

Comfort have quoted me over £600 renewal for this van and Lifesure is just over £300, I’ll see what LV have to offer but it looks like Lifesure for me, even though I’ll have to pay €200-€300 border insurance in Morocco…

I have checked the defaqto rating it looks great but do check the company you are using is the one that has the rating, sometimes they can have a very similar name but be a different company.

I know Lenny, I put 10k a year and value at 25k….😱
Value doesn't affect it normally if under £100k mines at £74½k, mileage 10k compared to 8k puts it up around £30. Maybe because your van is not a mainstream conversion.

Quite possibly the conversion Lenny but just came off the phone to LV who didn’t even ask about the name came back as £520…

So it looks like Lifesure for me..👍🏼

Same for us this year having moved to Comfort from AIB, who lost out as they were 10% dearer for exactly the same policy.

Did you ask if you could take out a new policy while out of the country?

Do I look like a test pilot….🤷🏼‍♂️ 😆😉
The thing is if you had a prang and then they decided you weren't insured could get very expensive with 3 rd party claims.
Probably best to renew current policy then change insurers when back in the UK.
