I'm a newbie
My heritage is Welsh and although I live in England I currently display the 'UK' and Union Jack flag on my numberplate. Does anyone know if I'm allowed to use the Welsh version of this instead?

You can use whatever you want, or no identifier at all, unless going to Europe then you need a UK.

Why not just have a Welsh flag beside it? (Maybe bigger!)

I see lots of peeps from Norn Irn do similar with the Norn Irn Banner.

Lol. I haven't even got it yet 😂
I'm good at planning though so come early October I'll be ready with my stickers 👍

We're looking for our first MH at the moment. Much less over 3.5t (so I can get the kitchen sink in)!

Had you thought of something like this?

(There are lots of variations if you Google!)

You can have your Welsh flag on your vehicle registration plates ( both front and rear) but if travelling out of the UK into the EU, then you will need to have an additional standard oval UK sticker on the back of the vehicle. If using registration plates showing a Union Flag then there is no requirement for the additional oval UK sticker as above when travelling outside of the UK.

UK stickers and number plates​

You must display the UK identifier when driving a UK-registered vehicle abroad.

If your number plate includes the UK identifier with the Union flag (also known as the Union Jack), you do not need a UK sticker.

However, you will need to display a UK sticker clearly on the rear of your vehicle if your number plate has any of the following:

  • a GB identifier with the Union flag
  • a Euro symbol
  • a national flag of England, Scotland or Wales
  • numbers and letters only – no flag or identifier
If you’re in Spain, Cyprus or Malta, you must display a UK sticker no matter what is on your number plate."

I personally don't have any markings on my number plates, other than the Reg No, but I do display an oval UK sticker on the rear.

You can put the Welsh flag on your registration plate as long as you have a UK sticker on the rear of the van I have a Scottish flag on my reg and a UK sticker ,never had a problem in France, Spain or Portugal.
Go for it.

I have plain number plates so I'm getting a UK sticker, it will also help to cover a small chip in the paint 🙂

We had this on a site in Croatia.
They very kindly put us next to the other van from UKraine so we could talk to each other.
We didn't have the heart to correct them, and the Ukrainians spoke very good English.

We keep the GB with the EU stars on the number plate.
We now display a GB sticker to tell people where we are from.
We also display a UK sticker to conform to the rules and show support for Ukraine.

I actually got the information from a popular YouTube channel called Matts Motorhomes, or something like that. He runs a large hire fleet of motorhomes and runs a regular podcast on the aforementioned YouTube.

Yup, all the flipping time, even from United Kingdomers! 🙄

I'm gonna see if I've got a GB sticker in my 'useful bits' cubby at home and if so stick it next to the UK one ... should confuse the heck out of some and keep others quiet! 😄

Will have a look in my stash too amazing what you find, elephant head decal anyone, it's the same size as a GB sticker, never got as far as the doblo.
