We are off on the 20th Jan for the first time to Spain. Saw the LEZ for Spain comes in now. What has everyone done? Left it too late to get a sticker. Do you just buy one when you are there? Do we really need one? If so is it any post office?

Worried now that I totally overlooked this.

Read this and just not sure what I should do.

To my knowledge there are only ez's in Madrid & Barcelona at present. I have a sticker but our town hasn't completed a lez area ,nor do they have to if they oppose it.

Foreign vehicles cannot obtain a sticker. I have read that foreign vehicles with stickers from countries, like France & Germany, where foreign vehicles are able to purchase environmental stickers will be treated the same as locals.

For each person with a sticker here there are thousands without .

Just read on the link that it is possible in Barcelona to register foreign vehicles. It certainly isn't anywhere elkse & the DGT state that also?

We didn't get one and won't go anywhere where it's needed. We've reached Benicarlo without a worry or a care. Don't need one to get this morning's view. A free night listening to the med. Enjoy your trip.

Not bothered with one for Spain, (for the reasons given above by gus-lopez), nor the French Criti Air sticker on this MH), but we do display the German Umwelte Plakette, which may suffice nearer the time of enforcement.

Cheers

Jock. :)

Thank you all, that’s made me feel less panicky. We have a German one so will stick that on. No intention of going into a big city 😊 so hopefully all good. 😊

There is a thread about LEZ’s recently which spoke in detail about Spain but briefly my understanding of what was said is.

Spain cannotregister foreign vehicles, at the moment? They may allow recognition of such as French German foreign stickers when applying their rules to foreign registered vehicles. The law doesn’t say you have to display one, yet.

Have a search

My car was out of action last month.

A Brand new BMW Hire car from Alicante did not have any sticker !
& yet I read recently that new vehicles now automatically come with one when you receiver the Permiso de conduccíon?
