Leisure battery not receiving charge from engine

Hi. Peugeot Boxer 2004, Autosleeper Nuevo. Alternator putting out plenty of charge but nothing being received by Leisure Battery.
How have you determined that a). there's plenty of charge from the alternator and b). Nothing being rec'd by the leisure battery?
Was it by putting a meter across the leisure battery terminals, first with engine off then with engine running at above tickover speed?
Is the leisure battery substantially discharged/flat?

There will be a fuse that joins the two systems together. This is a good starting point for the checks. Normally a “big” fuse and often near the starter battery, but not always.

There's usually two big fuses, one by the starter battery as Landy Andy says, and also one by the leisure battery.

Another easy thing to check is, does the fridge switch on with 12V when the engine is running? It is triggered from the same signal that switches the leisure battery charging on, so it's a useful indicator.

Thanks. Engine battery charging at 14v when running, Leisure battery - nothing. Leisure battery (new ish) holding about 12.5v but topped up by solar when sun shines !! Yes fridge 12v works when engine running and two relays behind drivers seat both 'click' when engine starts.
Will look for fuses tonight

Probably the two relays are the split charge relay and the fridge relay. If they are, both of them should have one of the main contacts connected to the starter battery (via a fuse of course). So you can check the two voltages are exactly the same as the starter battery.

One of them will be connected to the fridge element, so there will be no voltage on that when the engine is off - but it will jump to the starter battery voltage when the engine is running.

The other relay will be connected to the leisure battery (via a fuse of course) and should show the leisure battery voltage all the time (engine on or off). When the engine starts, the starter battery voltage and leisure battery voltage should equalise, as the split charge relay connects them together. They should both go up to 13.5 to 14.5V

Was this resolved as this is my exact problem after getting a new alternator fitted ?
