As of today, 23/8/22 minus a few weeks! ( deposit paid, awaiting collection)
Good Morning

Firstly, as always when posting these questions, I confess I have hardly any knowledge on how things actually work beyond pressing the visible buttons. I know some say people without such knowledge shouldn’t own Motorhomes etc. I’ll take that on the chin…
Here is my problem in simplistic terms..
The van has been in the garage for front end damage repair since October 26. Quite an extensive job, and only this week has been completed. During this time, ahead of the weather getting colder we went over and drained the systems as necessary.
I have found out since I should have pressed a button on the leisure battery to limit discharge, obviously this wasn’t done.
Even took the socket plug in cable over to the garage and explained we were worried about the battery. They reckon they plugged it in at times. Who really knows?
It appears not to have moved more than once in just over two months other than from car park into workshop for several days.
It’s a Peugeot dealer rather than any Motorhome specialist. Damage was not on habitation side of things.
On going to collect yesterday we had an issue that the cushions/ floor etc were dirty/ marked. It seems stuff maybe stored in there or people in dirty clothes, impossible to tell. Anyway they agreed to clean etc. Fair enough.
Also it was obvious to check the leisure battery level. This is where even to my limited knowledge it seemed something was wrong.
The display doesn’t work properly, it’s got some light to it but not that anything is legible.
Also as it’s been cold I tried turning the truma heater on at the adjacent panel, a fault W 255 H shows, which refers to no 12v connection.
I have plugged hook up into van from home hoping to a) charge the leisure battery
And b) get the heater going.

Also it appears the alarm isn’t working as no beeps when locking/unlocking.

What do you think I should do next?
Leave it on charge for a couple of days has been advised…

Thanks in advance

If the leisure battery has been left flat for any length of time it's probably goosed. After a charge it may work but at reduced capacity so worth replacing.
Alarms are normally wired to the starter battery so a separate issue, if they were doing bodywork they may have disconnected the starter battery and not reconnected the alarm, although most alarm fitters wire them to the fuse box.

Do you know if your leisure batteries are Lithium or something else?

If they're lead acid (e.g. AGM) and they have been discharging and not been charged then they're most likely dead and will need replacing.

Sorry, not the news you wanted.

If they're lithium then you should be OK with just recharging them.

*edit, Lenny just beat me to it!

Thanks for quick responses…

It’s not Lithium so assume it’s normal type.
Repair was insurance job, do you think I can claim new leisure battery ?

Sorry, no idea how to measure battery direct or what equipment needed!

I think b-I-law has a meter of some sort…

Update…

Marquis ( where we got van from) are very kindly going to look at the van, 30 minutes no charge to try and ascertain the problems.
Then if necessary we can take it back to the garage and add on to the insurance bill.
Hopefully we will get a satisfactory outcome…

Do you have a solar panel on the roof and was it stored outside at the garage?
