Hi All - first post. Go easy! I have a new 2022 Adria Coral motorhome. I have had a second leisure battery fitted. In the Adria control panel, there is the battery status indicator for the vehicle battery and the leisure battery. Would the % remaining/charge status of the leisure batteries be the total % remaining across both batteries? I was expecting to see two leisure batteries with individual status displayed.

Any thoughts appreciated.

As far as the van is concerned you don’t have two batteries you have now one big one, and before you had one small one. It just reads them as one.

In my Adria I had to adjust the settings in my control panel, so it knew the new capacity of the battery/batteries, it can then do the calculations for the display.

Which model/year and control panel/on board control unit was it on please?

Can you actually tell/program the Sargent panel the amperage of the batteries?

Does the Adria Coral have a Schaudt Electroblok, if so what it its EBL model number? If it does, it will also have a Schaudt control/display panel, which will also have a model number.

The EBL needs to know the total battery capacity. On my panel it is possible to go into a menu and enter the total battery capacity. It may need updating if you have added an extra leisure battery. The Electroblok can measure the amps going in and out of the battery, and can then keep track of its state of charge.

It can work our when the battery is 100% full if it charges a couple of times from EHU. For that to work, it needs to be on EHU long enough for the battery to go into 'float mode'. You can tell when that happens because the leisure battery voltage will drop from about 14.4V to about 13.4V. You don't need to do anything, the EBL will work it out for itself.
