We may have to buy a new leisure battery to continue with our trip and wondered if anyone could give us a company near to Alicante to buy one at a reasonable cost. We have checked with Caravan Cruz at Elche but they are very expensive. As we intend to cross to Morocco we could call at Gibraltar if we could find a supplier. Anyone know if there is a firm in Gib:rolleyes:

I noticed Carrefours had Tyres and batteries for sale at La linea and Palmones, Derek. Might be a cheap option if you re not too fussy? I know some people are fitting 90ah starter batteries and getting away with it, especially with solar.

When my leisure battery packed up I fitted a Bosch 90Ah starter battery 'temporarily' that I already had. It's still working fine, five years later.

Tanya batteries use to have a depot in mainland Europe, used them several years ago. Think it was about 3 days delivery to the campsite we were on in Portugal

Might be worth contacting Hispavan if you’re travelling south.
They speak English.

Near Carrefour la linea in the same complex is a Verts (or something similar sounding) which supplied our engine battery.
Gib also has a specialist battery outlet near the bus station.
Caution: if the Guardia notice it as you re-enter Spain you will have to declare it as an import.

Batteries are expensive in Spain, if your on a campsite get one delivered there maybe something like this one. 🙂 Bob.

Tanya no longer deliver to Spain post-Brexit; but Alpha batteries do, via their Ebay shop, for about 20 euros postage and tax when I bought one last year. Good price and fast delivery too.

Feu Vert (= Green Light) is a chain of stores that do vehicle parts and accessories, and have workshops to fit them if you want. Similar to Halfords in UK. There is one in La Linea.

We recently needed to replace our two batteries, and Hispavan were recommended by someone we met on a camper park where we were staying. Had tried a couple of other places nearer to where we were, but with no luck. Phoned first and spoke to an English lady who confirmed that they had what we wanted, so we made the 3 hour round trip to collect them. Reasonable price too.
