Leisure batteries deplete while driving motorhome

We have a new Adria supreme motorhomeOur leisure batteries deplete while we drive what is causing this
Welcome to the forum, a bit more details would help as it could be a multitude of things

You need to see if there is a B2B charger fitted, this would then charge your leisure battery via the alternator as you travel. It may be switched off or none fitted.

A 3 way fridge running in 12v mode will pull a lot of current. 15A is typical. So if your van doesn't have a B2B, or it's not working, it'll deplete your hab battery fairly fast.

With the fridge off, does turning on the engine increase the voltage on the hab battery? If not, it implies you're not getting charge from the alternator at all.

What happens when you do the same with the fridge on? It should switch from gas to 12v mode. The battery voltage should still remain above 13.5v (?) if everything is working properly.

Thank you we have a B2B charger and it’s switched on. When the vans on hook up they charge but when we drive the battery drops. 100 miles of driving our leisure battery went from 100% dropping to 75%.

Some questions. Was the B2B a factory installation or added later? What type of leisure battery have you got e.g. gel or lithium? What age is the van, how long have you had it and has it always lost charge or is this a new thing. Is your fridge a compressor fridge or a 3 way one that can run on gas?

Do you have an inverter fitted and switched on powering the fridge on 230v?

Which b2b do you have fitted

That's roughly 2 hours. If your battery is a standard 100Ah, that roughly tallies with a 25Ah draw, which is approximately what you'd expect from the fridge and no charge.

Someone else had a similar problem recently on a different type of motorhome and the problem turned out to be a blown fuse.

There is nothing running at all when we travel the leisure battery is 200ah lithium it’s as if when we travel the power discharges when it shouldn’t

It’s a brand new Adria with lithium it’s the first time on a trip so only noticed as we have a victron app that showed the battery dropping charge as we drove. We have a 3 way fridge

I agree with.
Under Warranty Back to the dealer.
Could be worth checking the fuses mentioned in the other post since it cured the problem in that case. However you probably best avoid any radical intervention so that you don’t compromise the warranty.

An incorrectly set B2B could be doing this. If you can access the settings in it you can check them. Probably best to get someone who knows the system to set them though.

My B2B was doing the same only just got it working right after about a year of having it fitted!

The Schaudt 121545 B2B in our new Hymer did exactly the same. (not charging whilst driving)

Turned out that Hymer had not fitted the retaining screws on the B2B power connections and they had just simply fallen out.

Simple fix and all is now well.

And of course it was not on the check list for the dealer.

So where has 50Ah gone if nothing is switched on?
If it was not factory fitted I would say there might be a loop back through a redundant split charge relay. The higher voltage Li leisure battery would then be charging the lower voltage engine battery that the ECU was trying to keep at 12.3 volts. In other words the leisure battery would be powering everything and the alternator would have been switched off. I would believe a dealer capable of making such an elementary mistake but not Adria.

What is the victron app exactly? Presumably you have a Victron device somewhere. Is it maybe a solar controller, or is it a shunt battery monitor? Could you post some photos of the electrics if you're not sure what's what? Are you OK with using a multimeter to take voltage readings of the battery voltages?
