As Jock said John there should be a fuse to pull if it’s been installed properly.
If no fuse John, and you are not keen on removing the wires, you can cover the panels completely, making sure there is no charge at all coming down to the controller, then change the batteries. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Might be worth covering panel and snipping I to the positive wire somewhere convenient and adding a fuse for future.

Remove the solar panel wires from the controller first. Cover the panel with a mat or isolate it.
Connect new batteries to controller and reconnect solar panels to controller last.
Thats my concern I don't want to mess about the the solder.

Thanks all for the information. Couldn't find a fuse, so covered solar panels. All seems OK fingers crossed..
So hopefully I will see the ones going to Peterborugh on Thursday.

Glad to see that you are on to it John.(y)

If no fuse protecting the batteries from excessive solar charge damage, it needs sorting out John. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Not sure were fuse is Jock. Couldn't find one on the main fuse board. There are two by the batteries I pulled those but controller was still flashing.

When installed John, they are usually close to the controller, if not already integrated within the controller itself.

Cheers,

Jock. :)
