My beloved motorhome is 16 years old and does not have an interior LED bulb to its name. I suspect they are all halogen, 20w spots or thereabouts.

My question is, if I replace them all with 3w LED bulbs, will the new bulbs work OK? I have heard of some systems not liking it for some reason... anyone done that, how did it go? I can change a lightbulb, but it doesn't go much further than that :-)

I replaced all the bulbs in my old Compass Rallye caravan and like you not an LED in sight.. replaced the halogens with suitable led with absolutely no issues👍👍

Mines 20 year's old and changed all mine to led without any problems. Aten lighting sell all types of led and are imo the best.Be careful if you buy from amazon/ Ebay. I got my first one's from Ebay. Luckily we were in the van when one caught fire.So changed all to one's from Aten. Not had a problem in the last ten years since changing.

I replaced all 12 interior lights in my 2006 motorhome a while back with warm white Aten G4 led's.
Original bulbs were all 10 watt, the G4's are 1 watt so a tenth of the power and are brighter.
I also replaced the 20 watt external awning light with a 4.8 watt Aten led which is a quarter of the power but much brighter.

I’ve replaced all the halogen bulbs on my 2001 Hymer with LEDs from Aten and I’ve replaced the tubes by removing all control gear and stick LED strip into original fittings.

Another vote for Aten. They work from 8v to 24v not like the ones that fail at 14v that the vans can run at.

Update: I have bought some tiny MR11 LED bulbs, and fitted them and they are working absolutely fine.. pleased!
HOWEVER, I now find I also have some bulbs bigger than that, and I can't even get to them. And I am keen not to force anything, the van is an old lady now.
Here is a photo, does anyone know how to extract the bulbs? They are on a 2007 La Strada Regent L:

Looks like the black plastic ring is holding the glass in.

Peel out the black plastic ring, and then the glass will fall out, and scare you. 😲

Just 12 interior lights. I have 24 in a 6.8m van. I think they must have been on special offer when they built mine. All now Aten leds.

Did the same in my RV,
9 x twin tube florescent fittings at 22 Watts each and a few single 10 watt halogen.
Around 250watts when all on.
Got the lot down to around 50watts.
