Good morning all.
Thought I would post on here first before the rumours kick in!
I am going to be leaving Howards Motorhomes and as a result Howards Motorhomes will be closing!
I have been with Howards for 10 years and loved it. But I want a bigger challenge and Howards don't.
I have been offered the opportunity to become the General Sales Manager for Alan Kerr. They want me to steer the ship and run both sites. They have been around for years and I am sure it will need a few tweaks but it will be an amazing challenge!
Brand wise, they have Bailey, Swift, Rollerteam and Knaus. Its a pretty solid line up. I am especially happy to get my hands on Knaus!
With regards to warranty etc, any customers of mine will have their warranty honoured at AK.
In terms of customers with vans on order or being prepped with me at the moment, I will still hand them over as Howards (Nothing changes) especially Yorkshirelad175 Billylyne5

Yes. I think I like that approach?. Would`nt be the first time some dealer has shut up shop and re-apeared 10 days later trading as someone else. Best wishes. hope it goes well for you.

A certain big Motor Dealership round here has closed the showrooms and Service department. with little or no notice, leaving customers to find alternatives.

bought from AK about 5 years ok, sales ok, after sales appalling, swore I’d never gone near them again. Hopefully you can sort them out.

Simon, obviously I do not know how you will end the relationship, but can I suggest that whatever you have agreed regarding warranty support etc who will be responsible and all that, make sure you get it in writing from them. If they have a spate of claims you do not want them throwing in the towel and sending people to you to sort and pay.
Friendships between business people can soon fall out when cash is involved.
I would speak to a solicitor to ask their advice.

Best of luck, called at Kerr’s twice with the idea of trading in a Bolero and another time a Burstner 821, both times promises were made to call me when the sales person had spoken to the sales manager. We never heard from them.
Having mentioned this to others and was told “ you have had a lucky escape “
I did recently call their service department about having an “ oil change “ service as we would be staying at Steamer Quay site for a while and they would have been convenient, WOW ! the price they quoted was hideous.
I hope you can get a grip on them and they reward you well enough to replace the tyres on your AMG Merc.

Well Torbay area can’t go wrong ,
Have had 2 vans off Alan Kerr and speak as I find after service has been good. I think the closer you live to a dealer the better service you get - I can’t complain.
However I recently emailed you with a query on my bailey but you passed it to workshop and I heard nothing.
Good look there’s a good team there
