The missus is due some money in next few years and wants to buy another camper as she still misses ours (woo hoo)

We live in Lanzarote so she's thinking about leaving it at her pal's near Alicante so we can just fly over to use it.
Her pal has a few acres so plenty of space for our camper.

It'll be about £1,000 return to and from our island so cheaper to leave on the mainland.

I'd rather have it here so we can tour these islands as well.
Needs some negotiations ;)

Are there any hidden negatives to leaving a van in Spain?

We'd probably use it 2 or 3 times a year.

Because of import taxes, we couldn't change the storage location easily.

A Spanish registered vehicle would be no problem left on mainland Spain if it is in a secure parking. You could negotiate with the parking company to take it for ITV if/when needed.

Many of our neighbours, from other parts of the world have cars here, and that's how they manage them.

Undercover would be an advantage at the same time maintaining your battery levels..
If the Norwegian and other nationals can and do it, why cannot you do it too...
I wouldn't dare be separated from our camper for long periods...it's my man cave, go to space....and have always jobs to do on it when not in it...
I think you should look into it very closely...it's a brilliant idea..
So much to see and do on the mainland..
Lots of good Airport parking companies offer this service....left ours throughout Europe on numerous occasions...but only short stay...

There's a fair few guardianista companies adjacent to the airport, most with shuttle minibus service as well. Not a bad location as you can head south, north or west from there with a good autovia network
