Our new (to us) B534 DL has a small leak in the front passenger plastic foot well, the one behind the passenger door, below the seat. If I lift the thick foam rubber mat there is always a small amount of water in there. It looks to be coming from behind the metal checker plate which runs along the door seal, this plate is riveted to the floor.

It's puzzling me as the door seal/rubber is dry and inside of the door is dry.

Any ideas ? before I drill out the rivets to remove the checker plate ?

Can't paint a picture, will a photo do ?

First photo is footwear, second is where the water shows, in the corner at end of metal strip.

So the checker plating is pushing the rubber seal down causing water to probably run down in-between the join on the gasket or drain though the holes into the footstep

Don't really get the need for the checker plating and had a leak like that from the garage door seals as the join was at the bottom middle so I just took them off and put the join at the top

It looks like a fairly poor design to me

IMHO I reckon that the where the rubber seal is distorted at the front (or poss the rear) end of the checker plate is allowing the water egress, esp if the door doesn’t compress the seal much.

We had water in exactly the same place on our brand new B-BCI after its first trip out. The dealer repaired it and said that they had adjusted the door (I think tightening its closure to the door seal) and put additional sealant under the wheel arch where they thought it was a bit under applied from the factory. It hasn't leaked since. I hope that you get sorted.

Not having a Hymer i do not know your layout but if you have a fridge nearby, it could leave wet in some circumstances.
