Hello everyone! We are just planning our first trip to France for six weeks from 1 Sept.
One of our concerns is medical insurance which we found to be very expensive as I have quite a few medical problems but looking at Le Shuttle website the insurance on there, which covers breakdown and medical insurance, seems relatively reasonable. Has anyone any experience of the cover offered on Le Shuttle website please?

I have purchased it in the past as it is reasonable especially for ease of just saying a doctor would pass you as fit to travel. However, thankfully, have never tested it by claiming.

We used to use the insurance but unfortunately now we're over 70 they'll only do single trip insurance for us rather than annual multi-trip. Never needed to claim so no idea how good it would be.

You need to take out the insurance at the time of booking the tunnel - it can't be added at a later date.

Thanks for that.

We're still using the Nationwide Flexplus offering despite the rise in price and the extra cost of the health insurance being over seventy with some medical problems, prostate cancer & diabetes. However we've never had to call on any insurance of this type in over fifty years wandering UK and Europe.

Thanks, who do you use now?

Currently with Nationwide but will be getting some quotes early next month to compare with their price when the renewal comes through as the change of insurer might make it cheaper to go elsewhere as we really only need European cover rather than the worldwide which comes with Nationwide.
