Our grey water takes forever to empty, like 10 minutes or more (I've not really timed it). It looks like the exit hole/pipe is quite small, just slightly bigger than a hose pipe. By contrast, the McLuis we rented in France once was like upturning a fish tank - gone in 20 seconds, if that.

It's not been a problem yet, but I can imagine causing a traffic jam at a busy site with only one grey dumping point as everyone tries to leave at the same time.

Our van has an electrically operated valve, though I imagine there is a manual override somewhere underneath.

Has anyone increased the size of the drain hole? Are there negative implications in doing so? Is it worth it? Is anything?

Predictive text strikes again, it had an un-insulated tank.

Its same with our Vantage, frankly its a bit embarrassing on at service point. So we have started to use a wastemaster, the tank empties as water goes in, also means no queuing when we leave a site to empty the tank and no nasty whiffs from the sink or shower .

I took the silly Bailey tap off mine and fitted a big bore tap. End of problem.

My Swift drain tap had a flow restrictor inside. Why would you want to restrict the flow I do not know. I removed the restrictor and it was a great improvement.

Here's how I improved the our grey waste dumping problem on our Elddis.
Dumping our grey water has been a source of embarrassment on more then one occasion with other motorhomes queuing up, drumming their fingers waiting for the paltry flow from our grey waste to finish.

I purchased from CAK Tanks a 28mm grey waste drain tap and a 28mm to 25mm pipe reducer.

The tap - https://leisurelines.net/28mm-grey-waste-water-drain-tap-valve-4303-p.asp and the reducer - https://leisurelines.net/28mm-grey-waste-push-fit-male-pipe---25mm-hose-adaptor-j-433-p.asp

A simple job on our Elddis Autoquest 175. Remover the offending original grey waste drain tap, remover the rubber grommet on the tap mounting bracket.
The new tap is a nice tight fit into the mounting bracket and I used a jubilee clip to secure it in place, reconnect the hose from the grey tank and job done.
I can now soak ever bodies shoes at 20 paces.

The old tap = 18mm inlet and 14mm outlet

New tap = 23mm inlet and 28mm outlet

Our waste is 40mm dia with an electric valve empties fairly quickly.
Check the size of your pipe you may have 40mm pipe but they have fitted a smaller valve if so it should be fairly easy to change the valve.

Exactly what we have been doing with the wastemaster from our days in the caravan!

I'm glad I'm not the only one :)

Thank you all - I need to slide my fat backside under the van and take a proper look.

Cheers!
