We use our laptop on the van to watch films etc, but the speaker is very poor.

Can anyone recommend a speaker - USB, if such a thing exists, or failing that Bluetooth. I don't want to spend a fortune!

Are any of the Bluetooth speakers able to be charged via USB?

Value for money either betron or soundcore mini. Can fill our PVC with sound.
Bluetooth with USB charging.
But if you have loads of money or want hi fidelity look at bose

Boom wonder ears are great. I'm sat by the pool cracking out Planet Rock to my Big Ears :)

Hi.
Is there such a thing as a pair of headphones, that plug into the pooter that boost the sound please and cut off the pooter external speaker. I go and have a session on my youtube favourites and to have the volume fully up so i can just hear,Jennifer puts up the volume on the TV........
Tea Bag..... 🚑

Take a look at the Anker Soundcore Bluetooth speaker, £30 to £40 on Amazon and sound is really good.
Another 👍 for Anker. Great value for money.

I use Soundpeat truengine se Bluetooth earbuds when watching YouTube videos on my iPad.
So I think if you have Bluetooth headphones linked to computer sound shouldn’t come out of computer speakers

Any bluetooth or normal headset would do that. As soon as you plug in or change the sound output to the headphones, the computer would turn off the external speaker.

If you want to tone down ambient noise, then you'll need noise cancelling headphones - although they work best for constant background noise (such as on a flight), not randomly changing stuff (like a tv program/speech).

But Bose QC 45s, if you have the budget, are amazing.

Every day is a school day. I never thought of using my Bose mini speakers with my laptop while listening to music or watching films.

Any chance of a review 👍

Well I've had it for less than a day ... but installation was intuitive, as are the controls. The sound from my laptop at home is rich and loud, and should fill the van (and maybe the neighbors' ...). Of course I can't yet comment on battery life. Certainly impressed with the sound from such a small unit.

Which speaker did you get. Cheers

I use a Minirig.The model I have is a Minirig 3,given to me as a present.Lucky me.Also connects to my phone.Google it..designed and made in Bristol

Despite being only a year old and 1.000 € our 17" laptop has no bluetooth to an outside speaker but we have one that is powered by the usb point on the laptop and it is absolutely excellent. It clips on top of the lap top and works perfectly.
Bear in mind that using a Bose speaker setup is not worthwhile unless you have a top end laptop. The ability of the laptop to produce sound will not actually be improved by the speaker.
If the sound production is poor, then the best speaker in the world can only duplicate NOT improve it. It will enable you to hear the best that the laptop can produce however but I would not spend too much.

Really? I would thought it's impossible to buy a laptop without bluetooth given the plethora of headsets/mice/keyboards etc.

Are you sure it isn't just disabled? What model is it?

Bose Soundlink II or UE Roll 2 (the latter is waterproof) - great sound from both, both USB chargeable and BlueTooth compatible. Other speakers are available, it's just that we have one of each and are well satisfied.
