I have used them all. Michel Thomas, pimssleur, FSI, Paul noble, rocketspanish, notes in Spanish, coffee break Spanish, lightspeed Spanish and loads more. They all have good points and together make a great learning resource but if I had to choose one to recommend it would be language transfer and best of all it's free but welcomes donations. For the life of me I can't understand why it's not better known as quality of content is outstanding.

Welcome and thanks. The group has gone a bit deflated at the moment. My learning has petered out to a quick daily podcast. Maybe your link will get me going again :)

Thanks for the link. Will give it a go I'm one of those desperate to learn but fall into can't teach an old dog new tricks category.

I had links for Michel Thomas posted if you want that too

That would be great thanks. Bought a copy of the Michael Thomas once off eBay turned out to be a pirate copy with bits missing so sent it back.

I have recently joined Motorhome fun and noticed others attempting to learn and speak Spanish. I would like to thank you for mentioning languagetransfer.org which I had never heard of before. It is absolutely the best course I have studied and am progressing far better than with any other course I have attempted. The guy who explains all the nuances of the language in an easily understood format is a genius at languages. Thank you again for putting me on to him.

I've not tried that one, maybe need to give it a go soon when I can get motivated again. No holiday in the horizon has created a lack of enthusiasm.:(

Try looking at it like it's a crossword puzzle to keep your brain ticking over. The horizon is getting nearer. It's just the depths of winter doesn't help enthuse us. Do give it a go. You will be pleasantly surprised. Good luck.

Just been for a quick look and yes it does seem good. I just need to find roughly where I’m at in the audios so I’m not listening to stuff I know.
Hopefully something new might help get enthusiasm back 👍. Thx

Probably worth you starting right from the first lesson as it builds up layer on layer and although I did Spanish at school 50 odd years ago ,even got an O level, each lesson from the beginning has been a great help. I'm on lesson 50 now which has taken a couple of weeks and I feel I would have so much more confidence when trying to speak it. Not saying I would be anywhere near fluent nor would I be able to follow a Spanish speaker at full pelt! However every little bit helps. Ciao!

You sound motivated. Good for you 👍 For me I think doing a mixture of resources is good, I just can’t get going at the moment. I struggle do even do my Duolingo each day but I manage most days. This is today’s latest streak. I keep struggling on the past tenses. I think I need to pretend I’m back at school and give myself some lines to write out. :-)

Maybe we could get a 5 min chat going on a zoom group one evening if you or anyone’s up for it?

Hola irnbru! Lesson 46 is all about the past in particular, I was doing, I used to do and then on to I did , the 2 main ways of expressing the past and the easy way to work out the endings for ar,ir and er verbs. This guy really is the business in my book.

Re zooming. I'm all for that. Don't know if you mean trying to talk in Spanish or just generally to maybe try and help those who wish to add to their ability. We could chat about it. Don't really want to give out my email address or phone number. Not sure how we could connect.

As I'm new to this forum, I just wondered if email address can be given privately.

Thanks for that, I will definitely try tuning myself into the lessons tonight. Its helpful to know im around lesson 46 :)

I've had a look at Zoom, only used it as a participant twice but I think you just need to join zoom, its free, then if we choose a time I can set up a meeting for up to 4 people and give out a code that you enter. I'm free most evenings.

Yes I'm on zoom but to invite you need to be able to send the code via email or whatsapp ie phone number. I don't mind giving out those details privately say to you but don't want them viewable by everybody.

I understand your concern. Can I not just send you the code here? I mean post a code, does it not work like that? Have you set one up before? Thx

Hiya. Maybe you are right there. Shall I try to invite you to a chat say at 7.30pm tonight by attaching a link here?

Hi, I'm on a very crap internet at the moment and each page is taking ages to load, so can we do it anytime from Thurs night onwards please when I should have proper network again.
