Lake Constance

Hi, were at the stellplatz in Gohren on Constance and it's not really our sort of place and like the look of the main mega site even less.
Can anyone recommend nicer places around Constance ?
And suggestions for a senic route / interesting towns etc. north please

Hi Figaro, I live in Radolfzell at the other end of Lake Constance. We hate the main site at Gohren because it is defiitely not our sort of place.
When we were down that way, we used to stay at Tunau, Camping Iriswiese in Kressbronn, or Park Camping near Lindau.

If you are heading towards Konstanz, you might try the Stellplatz above Überlingen.
I haven't used it since it has been changed, but there is a free bus into town and there are lots of possibilities from there (Affenberg, Pfahlbauten, Mainau and Konstanz by boat)

If you are looking for scenic places and routes then Isny im Allgäu is a great little old town, and only 45 km from where you are.

I have done the Romantic Street and can thoroughly recommend it.
One possibility (if you like medieval towns with Stellplätze) would be :

Isny - Kempten - Landsberg am Lech - Augsburg - Nördlingen - Dinkelsbühl - Rothenburg ob der Taube

This is more or less a combination of routes that I have done around there.
