Long time
Last year, late summer, one side of our van was almost covered in Ladybirds.
Now we know just how many managed to get in!
For weeks now we’ve been chucking Ladybirds out, they’re all coming out of hibernation now and need a hand to get out into the blue!
They pong of Peas when you handle them!

A long time ago I drove a coach, it was partly yellow in colour. That year there was a plague of Ladybirds and they almost totally covered all the yellow bits on my coach. I think they are attracted by colour.

Last time I remember lady birds being in vast numbers was summer of 81, we were squishing them under foot, felt awful walking along the prom down south somewhere.

It seems different insects are attracted by different colours e.g. I was told not to wear blue in a tsetse fly area.

Sitting in a field once with a yellow bag and a red one -- the yellow one ended up covered in little flies.

Bought a sticky insect trap for the greenhouse and it has both a blue and yellow stripe -- must be for a reason.

And apparently so are mosquitos - they like blue - be warned.

Thought it was going to be an interesting thread, I miss read the title as Ladyboys.

Ghastly little bugs, they come into the bedroom every year and take up residence in a corner of the window, if reading in bed before lights out they seem to wake up, they crawl over the bed, fly in ones face and when swatted they stink, my mother used to tell me they love aphids on the roses, every summer I look to see if they're doing their job in return of rent, never seen one yet!
