I love those Day Vans. Duncan of Star Spangled Spanner has one. Stunning

We had one when we lived in the States - a Chevy van base converted by a company called Gladiator - we called her Gladys.
Two rows of massive captains chairs and a third row which was a bench seat that reclined electrically to make a double bed.
5.5 litre V8 that made a wonderful rumbling sound when you accelerated.
We loved that van.
When our daughters came out to stay with us with their partners they would borrow Gladys to go sightseeing and shopping. They preferred it to the Mercedes ML320 4x4 that was our other daily transport.
The sharp eyed might spot where my avatar comes from.

When I worked in the shipping and forwarding game we brought a dayvan over from the USA for Champion Spark Plugs it was a very special build and was taken to all the racetracks, beautifully finished both in and out I recall that the round table with 4 leather seats around it was also a wine cooler and bar ,

She would do me very nicely if she pitched up next to me!!!! Wouldn't she be a lucky girl!!! Lol

I hope my van is in that sort of condition after 40 years! :pray2:

Maybe the climate makes a difference....would a 1977 GMC survive 40 years of British winters, salted roads and potholes?

Got to admire the amount of stuff she's got in the van as well...if it was me it would be all over the floor the first time I took a roundabout

The Northern US states use more salt on their roads than we do. However most full timers would never be in the northern states in the winter - they will be in Florida or California. They migrate northwards in summer.

A lot of states in the US don't have roundabouts, traffic lights and four ways stops is their alternative. Allowing vehicles to turn right on a red, if it's all clear. Why we can't go left on a red if it's all clear is beyond me.

Some cyclists go where they want to on red!

I don't see why we can't go on red anyway if there's a unobstructed view and definitely no other traffic.
Sat at a red light on a clear crossing at 4am is a waste of time and fuel.

Oh, just remembered....locally I do.
