I'm a newbie
Hi

Im looking to buy my first van.

As Im 6ft2 tall bed length is an issue - too tall to sleep crossways

And I have a disabled mother I may need to take with me on occasions who will need to access the bathroom at night.

So looking for a conversion with long single beds lengthwise.

Have seen a La Strada Pronto on LWB Transit and wondered what peoples experience s were, especially if you are tall ?

Can you turn the front seats and use these to extend the lenth of the front beds ?

Whats the general build quality of the conversion like. - I have been looking at Autosleeper s which seem to be the best - how would the La Strada compare ?

Many thanks

Hi we had a Trento so can’t comment on this layout but I can say that the build quality is much better than the more modern autosleepers, I know that the older auto sleepers were well regarded but I looked at some new ones a few years ago and although quite plush looking a bit fur coat and no Knickers for me, also just to say our La Strada was very reliable with nothing going wrong whilst we owned it apart from about 500 ladybirds overwintering in the rear door panel once, a delicate job in the spring moving them all.

Thanks for the info.

What chassis did yours have ?

The ones I have seen are on a Transit Mk7.

The Autosleepers Ive looked at are on a newer shape Peugeot Boxer. Im looking at vehicles about 07/08 Reg . I thought their build was very good - are you talking about AS after this time being poorer ?

Anyone know whats the difference in experience between these two chassis ?

Hi ours was an 07 transit, I think that the Fiats are a bit more spacious as they are squarer, I think that the 07/08 Autosleepers were still good then but I am sure someo will have one who can give more info
