Kwells at the ready!

Hi.
As recommended to this NON SAILOR!! "Stugeron" Tablets. First to tell me was a Sea Kayaker at Plymouth sound, put this to the back of my mind, calls in a mate while near Wirksworth derbyshire who was a bit down and he said he kept getting dizzy and his Dr ! had prescribed hin...Stugeron tablets. Armed with this knowledge,i allowed myself to be carried aboard screaming and wailing some old RUST bucket pretending to be a Ferry and then
ENJOYED IT......... PROPER!
However,they may not work twice;)
Having looked them up on Google,it does say.."Adults,...Elderly.... and Children"...Its up to YOU now:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Tea Bag.... ( Look for my heart..its in there somewhere.) An old Scottish Lament by McFarland, sung while being held leaning over a pub bog on his demob DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::eek:

If all else fails - try the Scottish method to cure seasickness. Grip a 10p coin between your teeth and lean over the side!!!

Stugeron(cinnarizine) is a sedating antihistamine and although it works fine I prefer the Hyoscine as it’s less sedating and I take other antihistamines anyway for allergies so don’t want any adverse interactions.

Well reefed down I hope and still making way over the ground - not many places to run to in S. Biscay. At least she was a 53 footer, but not a place to be by choice.
I was as sick as a pig, INSIDE DOVER HARBOUR, however I must point out I was a lifeboat crew member, and we were trying to save a yacht from being smashed to bits.. only a 100 metres off the beach in thiry foot rolling swell looking down on the Prince of Wales Pier one moment, the next smashing the keel on the bottom. It was not nice and I was trying to put a rocket line back in a bucket after firing a bigger line ove to it, looking down and rolling around going up and down IS NOT NICE AT ALL. I was not the only one either.

Stugeron worked for me -- got me through a force 12 in the Arctic ocean. There are also cheaper generic versions (cinnarizine is the generic drug) e.g. Boots do an equivalent (same 15mg dose).

Most of the time a half dose was enough for me, but I have reasonable sea legs and not too great a body weight. I didn't notice any drowsiness (the reason it is no longer allowed for services personnel, I believe) and even drank alcohol (in moderation).

As with all drugs, though, you need to check whether it's ok to take if you have any existing medical conditions and that it's ok to take with any other drugs you are taking!

I know people that use the motion sickness patches that you stick behind or by your ear and they reckon they work very well and that is on the small charter boats ( fishing or diving ) and when they stop motoring boat can rock big time

Oh the old ones- "doctor told me to put it in my back passage. So I left it in the passage between the kitchen and the scullery. For all the good it did, I may well just have shoved it up my a**se!"

Two years ago we were working for a holiday company as couriers on a French site when a family turned up asking for a doctor . They had got off a ferry at Roscoff and driven seven hours with their ten year old child seriously hallucinating after having been given 4 kwells to cure her seasickness.
She spent three days in hospital.
They had no travel insurance and no Ehic.

We thought about trying them instead of magic mushrooms.

Ditto @carolyn & Nick. (y)

Looking forward to it. (y)

Have a good Christmas, and a Happy New Year both. :)

For now,

Jock & Rita. :)
Thank you and looking forward to seeing you both. We got home safely and our mini Christmas to celebrate Claire and Matthew's new jobs was lovely.
