Know Your Van ๐Ÿซข

Thanks for that, I would never have thought it!

I posted once before, I was lent an entry lever Datchia a few months ago. DAB radio was superb, my Fiat? I donโ€™t even bother anymore, itโ€™s sh..e.
Only good for hands free to use the phone.
My radio does not work, probably because it has no ariel, neither physical nor in the screen. It doesn't bother me though, because as you have said, it works for the hands free phone and also the GPS, and I'm happy with that.

5 years owning my last Autotrail before i found out the rear lounge lights dimmed it you held your finger on the button
Before that we sat at night like being in the middle of Blackpool illuminations.
Mine do too and I did not know that. Thanks for the heads up tonka.

You use yours then? We find it neither use nor ornament. Our lass would sooner have more cupholders in place of it ๐Ÿ˜ฏ
I use ours to hold the mobile when using the GPS. The GPS goes through the head unit in the van and I turn the mobile screen off, but the mobile is always handy in the holder and the connection cable is easier to route that way.

The DAB reception on ours is also proper sh!te; like listening to Norman Collier! Now that I discovered that the clipboard does have a purpose, we'll likely have my tablet mounted all the time and cast Spotify.

I tried to use mine with a sat nav positioned in it, it held it nice and snug. Only problem was I couldnโ€™t see the sat nav in the sun!
At first I was scared to open it I thought if I gave it my usual heavy handed tug it would come apart in my hands.

If you mean the two plastic prongs, I still donโ€™t know! (Itโ€™s a bit irrelevant as they were broken and I filed them down so I could fit a bung)
As Pasty or no? writes, it's so you can clip and secure your hose; something I discovered just the other day after the water pressure caused the hose to repeatedly come out of the inlet and soak me!๐Ÿ™„

So, perhaps someone can tell what this small socket? Only discovered it after 13 years and knocked the cap off accidentally. Rapido A class, but it's part of the Fiat Ducato dashboard, beyond the clipboard.

Oh, come on!๐Ÿ™„
I could be forgiven for not knowing about the hose clip but everyone knows this is where the solar sensor, used for the climate control system, is plugged into!๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜†

We've had our van for almost four months and I've only just realised this is here, and its purpose! ๐Ÿซข

Still shove one of these in as a wedge. Came back so many times to water spraying all over the ground.

We have a switch in our Autotrail near the door, 2 years on and still no idea what it does ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™„
We have had our Autotrail Arapaho for 4 years the other day I was sat at the directed and could see a black switch said to the wife I wonder what that does an low and behold it puts a light on near the toilet floor for night time pee

It's at maximum. Fine at night, but during the day, especially in bright sunshine there is insufficient contrast to read it without peering. I know I am not the only one of hear who thinks it's an appalling design. Speedo's in the 50's are generally easier to read.
When I first owned my 2007 S/H Ducato, just like many on Fun, I could not see or read my dash very well as the rim of the steering wheel obscured my view.

I first tried to lower the drivers seat but then it made operating the pedals difficult.
Finally I decided, as I rarely used it, to remove the seat swivel.

It was heavy as hell to remove but it did lower the seat by about 2+ inches and now I can see my dashboard perfectly through the gap in the middle of the steering wheel.

Perhaps that's how it was originally designed? ๐Ÿ˜„

Cool, but how do you live without swivel seats?

We found that one by mistake too! ๐Ÿคฃ

When doing some wiring we found a secret cubbyhole we did not know about.
Met some others with the same van that they had had for 5 years, they had no idea.

It's big enough for a couple of books, or passports and money. You could even get in a pair of iPhones, ยฃ2k in cash and a Rolex collection, but the insurance will never believe you.

So if you have a 60th edition 2017-18 Hymer MLT or MLI already on your profile, send me a DM and I'll tell you where to look
Yes please , let Me know !!

Fatmrg spent some time today connecting all his hoses to our fully serviced pitch. He was surprised at the amount of grey waste he had to empty. He was even more surprised to find out that he had connected his portable waste water tank to his freshwater tank and was filling and emptying as if the planet wasn't in  serious bother.....
