Knocking when turning left

Does the knocking noise get faster when turning fast

or same speed of knocking if going slow

tyre blimp I had did that it was the last thing I thought of checking.

Same only when turning the wheel to the left and then straightening it up again.

I'm wondering if it's got anything to do with the power steering. ...although I can't explain why it only does it on left turns!!

Thinking a bit more......loose steering rack mount? Or a worn Bush on left hand side of rack?

vzac Have you checked on Fiat recall as I believe there was one for a cracked casting on the steering there was one for steering pump failure

We’re waiting for a cv joint to be delivered from Italy (hopefully next week). If it helps, ours knocks turning both ways, which ties in with your original diagnosis ruling out cv joint.

I had similar, it was a broken spring. I seem to remember that I could hear it at standstill with the engine running and turning lock to lock.
