I have a Burstner T615 Motorhome, 18 years old. The vehicle has developed a knocking underneath when entering through the habitation door and when moving around. I have had shocks replaced but without any success. The M/H has been checked out for other possible causes such as spare wheel carrier but again no answers.
Has anybody experienced anything similar and if so how was the problem resolved?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Bertie , have you been underneath your motorhome when someone enters it and walks around to try and locate the noise?

How about putting someone underneath to listen while you prance about inside as if there's a knocking noise they'd be able to hear it and locate the source?
Presumably you don't hear it whilst driving.

What chassis is it on, my van has Fiat chassis with double leaf springs and they can make noises. I lubricate between leaves with graphogen grease.

Front or rear anti roll bar, front spring not correctly seated, gas cylinders not secured. Too many options. Need one inside and one outside to find the position of the noise.

I had a similar thing,
Turned out it was the seat belt in the hab area. (the bit you plug it into)It was hanging down. When moving around in the van it was swinging around on the wood ,took ages to find it,drove me mad🤣

👍😁
We had something as daft.
Knocking when you moved about in van... After several trips it turned out to be an empty coat hanger in the wardrobe hitting the wall. 🤣

Hi Spriddler
You right about not hearing it when driving. Having another go today at prancing etc. Will let everyone know if anything found.

It's probably that illegal immigrant that's in your double floor space, hes been there since you last trip over the channel and is getting a bit thirsty. :ROFLMAO:
As it's a few years since crossing the Channel he,s probably just bones by now but all things are possible.

I know when my springs started making a noise I couldn’t work it out, even got on roof an stripped covers of satellite dish because I thought it was that.
It turned out to be double leaf springs rubbing against each other.

Just a thought. Vehicle chassis are designed to flex and this happens when the front and rear axles are at different angles. The problem here is that modern motorhome body construction is not that flexable. Hence when you twist the vehicle much stress is applied to the body and the body to chassis fixings. That is where I would be looking.

Have you tried walking about in gear but with the hand brake off. Or try the hand brake up a notch. My van makes a noise if the hand brake isn’t pulled up hard enough

I have a similar sounding knock on one of my rear leaf springs where the helper spring touches the main spring near one of the bushes.
Happens when you walk about inside.
A quick spray of wd40 fixes it for a few days.

Had this on two Mercedes chassis, it was broken clamp on rear anti roll bar.
