kitchen sink tap started leaking, changed cartridge still leaked, changed to another cartridge still leaked. bought another tap but pipework very tight struggle to refit tried to look for an extender 10mm male to 10mm female. all that seems online is pushfits. any help greatfully accepted.

Is it flexable hose?

yes flexible wire braded hose with 10mm screw connection

When I replaced ours I just unscrewed the female threaded ends of the flexible pipes from the male threaded connections on the tap. If you've got space to do that you should be able to reverse the process for re-affixing the new tap.

Or are you trying to replace the flexible pipes as well?
