No jokes please - it’s actually a serious question. We’ve just spent 2 months in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. Of course one pays to empty the toilet cassette - but it’s possible without paying to stay overnight. We’re heading back to park up for the winter in Kent (‘cos we live there) and might have some deposits while travelling. Is there a motorway service point? Not that I can find. Even the usually useful P4N can’t suggest anywhere other than a full-scale campsite (most closed). Is England too stingy to deal with our needs, or is it just Kent, or am I missing something? Suggestions other than illegal dumping would be welcome. Or I’ll take it home in the boot of the car.

Worst case Take it home and pour it down the loo.no big deal.
You could always go to the Canterbury Aire and empty your cassette there, would only cost you the days parking.

What's wrong with using a public toilet, if you don't want people to see you put it in a bag. The disabled compartment gives you a bit more space. The wheeled shopping bags are good it you can't park close.

Apart from the Canterbury P & R as already mentioned, the following are details of coach toilet drops in Kent.

Ramsgate - Stagecoach East Kent, Margate Road (COSTS £20+)
Rochester - Acorn Wharf 24h coach park (by Rochester Bridge) - toilet drop, coach washing.

If it was me, I'd be finding an open public toilet, because I don't carry sewer plate/manhole cover lift keys in the MH...................yet. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

That’s one way of dealing with the fact that England doesn’t like dealing with the subject!

If you don't want to pour it down your own toilet, it looks as if you will have to spend some of your money in this country and spend a night on a Caravan Club site. There must be one open all year in Kent surely? :giggle:

PS. I don't think pouring it down a public toilet should be encouraged, don't Motorhome's face enough public prejudice already?

Thanks. Didn’t know about Canterbury P&R - one beacon of usefulness.

Happy to pour it down my own toilet, as posted - just surprised and disappointed at how difficult it is to find reasonably- priced services in this country for those of us on the move (in all senses) ☺️

Shame on you, standard kit for a seasoned Motorhomer.
Maybe Lenny, but I do have a spare cassette, carried for nearly 3 x years now but not needed yet thankfully. (y)

faraway. That link to a toilet map is useful for us, for the very same reasons at kev54 finds it useful . Thanks. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

So do I
Only used the manhole keys once in about 7 years since I bought them.
Both items - when you need them, you really need them.

The Flush app (don’t know how to post a link to it) is pretty helpful in Europe - though not infallible…

kev54. There appear to be Public Toilet Apps on both the Google Play Store, and Apple Store, eg..............

Might be worth a download.

Oh for goodness sake, what difference does it make.

It could be Lenny, that there is someone outside who desperately needs it while you are there emptying your cassette plus, if you were disabled, would you want to sit on the seat when someone else had just emptied their cassette down it?

That would apply to using any public toilet for emptying a cassette Owen. It's really down to the integrity of the cassette owner.

On the very odd occasion I've had to do the deed with the cassette, the seat and bowl has been left cleaner than I found them. Wet wipes are an essential tool. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Wouldn't do it when people are around and it's the same crap that comes out of my arse if in sitting on the loo or pouring out of the cassette it's all shit.

I had a bad experience with my disabled mum trying to access a disabled toilet ,it was occupied for at least 20 mins and the gentleman who came out was a ‘ homeless ‘ person who had been in there having a wash ? He came out with all his belongings etc When I queried him he said ‘hard luck’ would you park in a disabled parking bay ? So you haven’t got to carry the cassette to far ?

What's that got to do with it dumping a cassette is quicker than having a shit.
