Planning a slowish trip down to Tarifa early next month. Keen to use our kayaks on the way- usually we just go straight there. I was reading LennyBs thread from May. Sanguinet is one of the stops we have used so I’ve marked that! Any other suggestions? I’d be very grateful!

Almost anywhere on the Dordogne.

Yes, thank you. And not too far off the A10!
I imagine most of the big rivers are similar

Have you seen the fire damage around Sanguinet? You may have fewer options for camping on the area.

The River Cher and Loire are nice for kayaking but the Loire is very low the further west you go.

I hadn’t realised the fires went as far south as Sanguinet….

I was hoping people whom had done some kayaking could point to good places for the motorhome and close to getting into the rivers.

Reading the FB page of Ville de Sanguinet there were still out breaks of fire in the forest near by last month but Danguniet and the lake look ok

No sure on your route, but if you're taking the A75, a short detour off this before Claremont Ferrand is Vichy.
The aire is beside the river and there's plenty of access points for your kayak. i think that the next door campsite (on the river bank) operates the aire.
About a 20minute walk into the town which is very nice.

We have t decide on the route yet. It’s earlier enough to go either side!

We kayaked along the Cher around Château Chenonceau. Good municipal camping nearby, several of aires and lots of places for wildcamping. Beautiful château. Easy water to paddel on.
