Just if anybody is interested, we are renting a 4x4 camper van from Cape Town next week and travelling north into the Kalahari and Botswana for three weeks. It's a trip we have done before but on our last visit we drove across to Namibia and changed the 4x4 for a motorhome and went up to Etosha National Park for a week ( you don't need a 4x4 in Etosha) and the extra height of a motorhome is great for spotting animals. We are not newbies to Africa, in the late seventies we had a Carawaggon long wheel base Landrover which we traveled extensively with. Internet is pretty much non existent in the Kalahari so it's unlikely I shall make a blog out of this trip, but if anybody is interested in renting a camper van in South Africa and the logistics of the trip ?

What a fantastic trip… a real adventure!

I hope you can post when internet permits.

It will be very interesting to follow your adventure 👍

Sounds wonderful. I would love to know more about the logistics, costs and route you took. If you want to write something up afterwards I'd love to hear about it - considering doing something similar when we retire. I married in SA and drove around Namibia later, up to Botswana and Vic Falls.

We're heading to South Africa for 10 days in the Kruger at Christmas for a break, nothing as adventurous as your trip. Have fun.

Yes very interested, looking forward to reading about your adventure.

I'm very interested to read about your adventures. Please update us when you have data signal.(y)

Please report back and give us a story line with photos of your trip, the blog doesn’t have to be real time but it would be very interesting for those of us who love wildlife, travel and how others see the world👍🏻👍🏻
