Just started!
Thank goodness I haven't needed it as finding out you don't have breakdown/recovery insurance while stuck anywhere in the horrible weather (5th April) would be a nightmare!

Used to be insured with Mayday/Green Flag but either didn't receive a renewal request or it went in my junk! So, our first outing this year will be the Newbury Southern Motorhome Show and I need to sort cover for UK only - any advice/suggestions appreciated :)

Thanks

That's the main reason I'm with N'wide. They take £13 a month from my FlexPlus current account which covers all 5 of my vehicles (plus a lot more things covered) so I never have to remember to renew or suffer the faff of renewing.

Entirely my fault - I usually place a reminder in my calendar/diary, didn't for this one!
Might go back with Green Flag unless anyone can recommend another worthy option :)

We buy ours as an add on to our comfort insurance costs about £70, which I always worry sounds far too cheap, but have never needed to claim

Who are you insured with they may offer this as an extra

If you're no more than 3500kg try Eurobreakdown, it costs around £80 pa for European and UK cover.

Greenflag only allows 90 days in any one year, we asked about extension and were told no.
Have sorted out something for next trip. And will decide what to do when our RAC is up for renewal, both covered and any vehicle, they wanted the same amount for the remainder of my policy as for a full year greedy ******
our insurer doesnt offer european cover.

Just goes to show it's not necessary ;)

The N'wide covers +3500kgs vans as well.

Yup I know but having done the insurance etc exercise over the last few days it's not necessarily the best/cheapest option. I was looking to go with them due to getting travel insurance too but by the time I pay for to extend above 31 days and a health supplement it makes it more expensive than adding it to my vehicle insurance and getting a stand alone travel insurance policy.

That's a good deal. It's pretty much the same price as the cover with Comfort insurance but looks to be better cover. Wish I'd spotted that one before I renewed with Comfort. I've used Eurobreakdown for short trips in my car for 20 years but didn't think about whether they did motorhomes.
