After a lot of discussion, CalamitySpain and I have decided to sell out lovely Le Voyageur and go for a PVC. A bit of a leap downwards but it will ultimately work a lot better for us. The Le Voyageur will be up for sale when I can bear to write an advert for her. Someone will be getting a really nice van as we spent a lot on upgrades. Still, all things come to pass. Looking forward to the change actually and of course, in Dux fashion, really nicely specced.

It sounds like you ordering one very nice MoHo will be nice to see when you have it

The mind is a strange thing, when I saw your post it reminded me of the blues brothers..........welcome to PVC ownership

 
I did that a couple of years ago and it was the best decision. I can get my PVC (6.4m) in places my coachbuilt would never have managed and we actually have more storage room and better bed. Just a shame that Adria quality is absolutely shocking and the vans just out of warranty.

We went from a 6.4 Adria Twin to 6.6m Burstner Travel Van.
Lots more storage in the Burstner for not a great increase in length/ width/ height. Quality of 21 reg Burstner is not as good as 16reg Adria.

I will not be saying "its 106 miles to Chicago, we have a full tank of gas and half a pack of cigarettes; it is dark and we are wearing sunglasses..........hit it!!!"

Wow, I think you guys will miss the space of the LeVoyager, but pleased to welcome you to the world of annoying your neighbours :)

Any particular models in mind, and will it have a Comfortmatic gearbox ?
 
I'm with Rob on the space. You will have to do some serious thinning out
But very happy to welcome you both to the worldofthe whoosh bangers :welcome4:

Wildax Europa, with 200AH lithium, 3KW inverter, 240W solar etc but still retaining the gas option. 9 speed auto. Already booked in for the Vanbitz security treatment

Had a really good look at all the junk that just sits in the van, most of which is rarely used, so will just pack for the trip. Don't really see any issues. Payload is good at over 400kg. for two.

How come these expensive vans with sliding door don't have electric operated sliding doors with a soft close facility? My old Toyota Hiace did, just gently slide it and the motor took over or press the button on the dash?

Anyway all the best with your ex Chicago Police car.....................

We've also had discussions about doing the same thing but I won't fit my chairs in a woosh bang 😁

We worked out that we can get them to fit for travelling as well as the table.

Also went for the diesel heater option so underslung gas only used for a bit of cooking and the cadac as the fridge is compressor and we can run the Ninja and the induction hob off the inverter if necessary.

The wooshbang is amazingly quiet..... tried to slam it but well damped and closes with a click

That's the problem - only fitting them for travelling, so would have to leave under the van at night.

So when is this new van arriving? Will there be a preview at Swaffham ;)

We love our Europa. It took a little while to finesse the bed making, but we still think we made the right choice.

A few minor niggles, but nothing that stopped us using it. Our dealer has been fab.

There's a good wildax group on facebook. And ~80 vans are getting together at the beginning of June - lots of checking our mods everyone has made to their vans, I'm sure.

We just put the chairs in a bag on the rear seat. When sited they are either in use, in a drive-away awning or popped under the van.

I added a couple of D rings so the chairs can be secured for driving.

I'd get that looked at sounds like the whooshbang door needs adjusting :wink:
