Probably get shot down....

What do you think !!!

So many old members who have still got a lot of knowledge have moved on and sold up be it for family/Illness/financial reasons..

But would like to stay in touch, but because they don`t motorhome now feel they will not stay members.. (I don`t.. :giggler:.)

How`s about a section/Forum that they can keep on site and chat to a few friends, without the need to get involved with m-home chat and the likes...

There are quiet a few that I am sure would like to keep in touch... ie Brizey/hilldweller/Brian & Jo/Penelope-Pit-Stop. who have hung up their keys but would still get involved with idle chat.. and don`t bother with faceache or the others...

Some have and are still "Life Members"... and those that are not would possibly still pay the annual fee which is value for money... There are some lovely people and wise people who are just sitting around twiddling their fingers...

Much like the "Good Morning Thread"..... but aimed at them that did and were more involved when they had M-homes...

A sort of Friends general chit chat thread...

Idea`s like what they are doing now, Why they gave up the M-home life, what do they do for holidays and breaks.... New hobbies they have taken up..... (You get the Idea.. (y))

Just an idea.................. Now shoot me down in flames..... :tounge::giggler:

Having moved to a caravan I no longer have a motorhome, but I still pay to be here. The thread you are asking for is already here, it's the oops thread.

Keep up at the back 😃😃😃

I didn't know Brian and Jo had hung up their keys.

Only been speaking (PM`s) to Brian and Jo in the last couple of days..

Not for me to say what he is doing now, he may pick up on this thread and tell you...

They are fine.... just old age catching up with them... :frowny: :giggler:

Unless the thread title is aimed at them that have given up, I would not of known that...

I have never opened that thread..
It started as a mistake but in lockdown it became a chat group in it's own right, now it's not as prolific but it is still going, pop in and have a look, we don't bite, well not often 😃😃

We can understand about the commitments holding you back, as we were restricted to a few weeks away because Basia's Mother at 101 needed company, although not full-time care. That commitment has ceased as she died a few weeks ago, peacefully in her sleep in her own bed.

However at 67 you are a chicken. That was the age I was when I first bought a MH and am now 80. I was still running my 30' yacht in Greece at the same time for 4 years. Now we are planning two 2-month trips.

If you are in reasonable health and when relieved of some commitments just go for it, even if you only get away for a few weeks at a time, as we have done for the last 10 years. Many times we have gone somewhere, parked the MH with friends, or once at commercial parking, and flown back and forth to avoid having to return all the way home because of shortage of time.

I think yours is a brilliant idea Old-Mo not 100% sure what the topics would be after the initial burst of euphoria but I will come along with you on your journey of nostalgia. I too often wonder how life is treating others. I wonder how the ex member last seen living in a benidorm mobile home/tent with his wife and I think a a parrot is getting on, Prize for first to name him. :giggler:

May be Jim will set up a new heading. "Memories of the early days of Fun" or similar where such chats could take place.

Due to my wife’s disabilities we gave up and sold the motorhome but I never stopped being on here.
My wife has since passed on but I doubt I would bother getting another, I’ll stick with using my static caravan, we always had a lodge or caravan even when we had the MH.
I’ll stay for the craic even if I’m not experienced enough to answer technical questions, I’ll leave that to the experts.

How about a new"group" on here. You can create your own I think.
