Hi Guys and Gals,

I wondered if there were any Intineo experts on here to answer a question ?

I know it's not as popular as other brands in the UK but my question is regarding the look and design of the front.

There seems to be two different designs and I can't fathem out if one is a new design. If I order a new one today I've been told by the dealer that the front will be (to me) the older looking design.

But a quick Google picture search and YouTube search shows two different designs to the front. Even Itineo website shows the older looking style.

I have messaged Itineo customer services and STILL await their response.

PIC attached with both style fronts of the same model.

Any help appreciated

Your first pictures seem to be the new style model according to, as you say, their own and various dealer websites.

We have an Itineo SB740, it was built and delvered late 2021 and registered in March 2022 (due to delays with CoC paperwork from France)

It is styled like the first two photos above, which is the new style. The rear panel is different too. The last image of the interior is similar to ours, except ours is a Spirit Edition with different upholstery.

Take a look at this:

We're thinking about the SB700. The 740 is a great layout also. Also considering SC660 as the configuration would be great for us but we think the extra space of the 700 would be beneficial (5 of us in total and a dog).

May I ask how you have found owning one please ?
Did you have any snaging issues and if so how where they dealt ?
All the videos on tinternet are in French obviously so difficult to get a just of what they are explaining 🤣

Apologies for a long post....
We have previously had 4 touring caravans and 6 motorhomes so we are accustomed to snagging issues & as a consequence we have tended to buy local for ease of service & support. The Itineo is the first 'remote' purchase we have made from a dealer 150 miles away so it is a bit of a gamble. So far it has been ok, but it is still early days.

Watch out for payload, especially if you are enthusiastic about adding extras. The Itineo website & brochure is a bit confusing about weights especially when you start adding upgrades.

To be on the safe side I would imagine you will need to go for the 'heavy' chassis option with 5 of you plus dog.

I no longer have a C1 licence so ours is plated at 3500kg. We travel very light and there are only two of us normally but we take grandchildren occasionally (hence the bunk layout) & with very careful weight management (or by taking a car too) we manage. I watch every kg that is loaded. By way of example I am considering at some future date swapping out the lead acid battery for lithium so the weight saving could be used to offset the weight of a solar panel.

As far as the vehicle is concerned, we were lucky to find a vehicle that had been pre-ordered by a dealer & it was due in stock shortly after we placed the order. Fortunately for us the spec ticked the boxes for us. The only things that were missing were carpets & the dealer sourced those for us from a local carpet fitter at a much lower cost than buying from the factory.

Ours is 160BHP Auto, it's great to drive. It is our first A-Class and I am still getting used to it after years of coachbuilts & a panel van conversion. I find the build quality to be reasonable, but nothing to get excited about. Some parts of the internal woodwork seem very flimsy & I wonder how durable it will be in the long term with heavy use. Having said that, we compared Autotrail, Chausson and Benimar coachbuilts and I would say it is comparable in fit & finish. I would have liked to have been able to compare it against other imported brands but the lack of dealer stock anywhere in the UK made this impossible.

The quality of internal fittings & fixtures are pretty well standard stuff, from Dometic, Truma, electrics are Nordelettronica. We have a so called 'smart' alternator and stop/go so a DC to DC charger is supplied as standard to ensure the habitation battery is charged as we travel.

UK Models come with a 3 burner gas hob and oven, depending upon which model you choose the location and size of oven will vary. We discounted some layouts where the oven is located above the fridge, or where the oven was too small or had no grill.

Our vehicle came with a 9" Alpine head unit with satnav, unfortunately this does not allow you to specify the size of the vehicle. Upon delivery it was wired to an ignition feed and could only be used when the ignition was on despite Rapido providing an on/off switch on the dashboard clearly intended for a radio.

We also have the new 7" digital instrument cluster and climate control, the digital cluster is a fantastic improvement over the deeply cowled and almost impossible to read dials of our previous 2019 X/290 vehicle.

During the handover two issues were identified, the radio power source & a water leak where the fresh water tank sensor was fitted to the tank. The dealer did not do a good job of resolving these & we had to take it back for them a few weeks later to have another go and I am happy to say they are now fixed.

On the drive home I discovered I could not adjust the offside mirror to see down the side of the vehicle. Once I was at home I was able to adjust it to my liking by loosening a couple of allen bolts and rotating it slightly.

Over the next few days I went over the vehicle with a fine toothed comb and found a small number of issues, dented speaker grill, water ingress in the LED DRLs at the front of the cab; some loose trim, cab door wiring loose, fresh water tank sensor reporting 25% full when there was no water in the tank, nothing really serious. These were reported to the dealer for resolution. Just before we were due to take the vehicle back for the water leak to be resolved I received a phone call to say there was a recall for a potential cracking issue with the rear roof 'spoiler'. Upon inspection our vehicle is ok & there is a factory modification for which we are waiting for parts. At the same time there was a FIAT recall to do with the gearbox 'mode' switch which again we were given a clean bill of health.

Around half of my snagging issues are now resolved, the remainder are 'waiting for parts'. In my experience this is almost always the case with any motor vehicle these days.

We have used the vehicle for 7 nights away so far; everything works, nothng has dropped off. Not many rattles to report. The ambient & touch sensitive lighting is great, the drop down bed is comfortable although my wife says the ladder rung are hard on her feet; the seats are comfortable to lounge in on site. Being able to close off the rear bunk & seating area makes a very good changing room for us. I can see what speed I am travelling at on a sunny day & we have far more storage space than we could possibly use...... the fridge keeps the beer & wine chilled, what more could we want?

Wow thank you for your very detailed reply I did read it a few days ago with interest and have put a deposit on a SB700 that like yourself is a dealer order and arrives next month. GB pack, Macadam pack and Pack life with a good selection of other options free awning in the deal and did some negotiation on solar panel, bike rack and tracker.
It has the 15" alloy wheel upgrade but I want the 16" so I'll buy these and sell the 15" when it arrives.

The dealer had 4 models for us to have a look in so we could see, touch and fiddle with things and nothing concerns me at all with quality. They were actually very surprising how nice they looked and quality seems very good indeed.

Looking forward to getting it now 👍

I am glad my reply was of interest to you. I hope your vehicle arrives on time & comes with the CoC paperwork. We had to wait almost 3 months to collect ours from the dealer (It was delivered in December 2021 & we collected it in March 2022) because the dealer could not register it without the CoC. On the plus side it meant we got a 22 plate not a 71 plate & it was a bit warmer when we first got to use it. I didn't fancy a 'shakedown' trip late December........

My advice if you haven't already thought of it would be to get it onto a weighbridge as soon as you can so you know what your available payload is, especially if you are adding extras such as awnings, bike racks, not to mention the 16" alloys, these things all add up.

My dealer had ours weighed when it arrived & they sent me a copy of the weighbridge certificate, that was part of our deal, we placed our deposit conditional upon us seeing the vehicle and its weight being within my target, which it was.

You don't mention if you went for the heavy chassis or not, I think you'll struggle on the normal one with the payload offered.

Got mine at the weekend and the offside mirror is absolutely bugging me.

I had a look but I'm not very mechanically minded so wondered how you sorted the mirror and managed to get it rotated.

Apart from this I'm very happy with it.

Two things need sorted though apart from the mirror.

Near side cab blind doesn't want to keep attached to the magnetic strip and there a problem with the DAB reception and it says check antenna so these will get rectified down the line.

Sorting the mirror was easy enough. There are two allen bolts that hold a clamp which when released allows the mirror to rotate vertically. Undoing the bolts on their own did not release the clamp so I had to apply a bit of 'impact' to it to release the clamp. I slackened the bolts slightly but did not remove them, gently tapped the head of the allen bolts with a small hammer & it loosened the clamp. Once it was free it was easy to move the mirror, a bit of trial and error adjusting the mirror & tightening the bolts afterwards was straight forward.

15 inch wheel suggest its the light chassis add three extra packs and you may find your payload will be dire have you weighed it?
