Got a letter this week reminding me to pay the toll on the Pedemontana road near Varese. It’s one of those toll roads that you have to pay afterwards, i guess within most likely 24hrs of using it. There are signs although I’m pretty sure many people miss them.
The missed toll of €1.80 was from 2018
only taken them 7 years to send me a letter and of course with a €15 admin fee on top.
I missed it so it’s my fault, fine paid and I’m having a take away on the interest I’ve earned on keeping that €1.80 for those 7 years.
This does rather support that classic saying.
Heaven is where the police are British, the lovers French, the mechanics German, the chefs Italian, and it is all organized by the Swiss. Hell is where the police are German, the lovers Swiss, the mechanics French, the chefs British, and it is all organized by the Italians.
Now i know why getting our factory in Florence to send out invoices on time is still a mysterious process
