ISOFIX in a Benimar Mileo 286?

I would like to transport two young grandchildren in my Mileo 286 using ISOFIX fittings to allow the installation of two child car seats. However, having consulted Marquis (Dorset) where I bought it, I was advised that Benimar do not instal ISOFIX fittings during manufacture and Marquis are unable to retrofit them. This seems very shortsighted when surely owning a MH should be all about family enjoyment?
Does anyone know of an organisation that can supply a compatible ISOFIX assembly that I can fit myself or alternatively can supply and fit it themselves? I live in Poole, Dorset.

I doubt it will be possible. The seat frame goes round the water tank. On the other hand, plenty of child seats available that don't need ISOFIX, so don't see what the problem is.

Google isofix adapters……

What is an Isofix bracket?

This nifty device , called a Isofix Bracket , allows you to fit your isofix base or isofix baby seat to a vehicle that does not have isofix points. This product was designed, out of necessity for vehicles without isofix points.31 Jan 2022

Even Ford supply them for retro fit to cars, so must have had some type of testing.

Generic ones are available….

I doubt anybody is going to fit these for you do to being sued if they fail/don’t work/have a problem during use. It’s a critical item that needs to fitted, tested, then approved.

The car seats I have, and others I have access to, all have ISOFIX fittings - thus the enquiry. Ones without might be a route I have to explore. Thanks

That’s very helpful. Hadn’t realised such kits were available. Thanks

I take your point but I’m still hoping. Thanks

Kids car seats used to have anchor points that you bolted to the floor or seatbelt points, with straps that connected to hard points on the car seat. Are they still available? Not as convenient as an isofix, but much more secure than looping the belt through the seat back.

Yes I remember them well. Certainly worth considering although I’d be reluctant to drill through my MH floor because of warranty issues and knowing my luck I’d hit something vital 😂

You'll find it very difficult as there is the fresh water tank occupying the full space under the seat. Modern child seats that just use the seat belt for restraint have been fully tested and approved for use so they are quite safe.

Reassuring to know. Probably need to look at the seat belt restrained car seats. Thanks
