Hi everyone
I need clarification on what is the Gross Vehicle Mass of my 2007 Carthago Chic I47.
Since I bought the moho I have been basing my GVM on the ALKO plate and the Carthago encapsulated card plate details which state 4000kg. Some months ago I noticed that the V5C Revenue Weight was recorded as 4150kg. I took this as a mistake and that the plate is the legal item. However, this morning I found the blue, double sided Design Weight Certificate from
JR Consultancy which states 4150kg as the Gross Vehicle Mass. Can anyone categorically tell me what the Gross Vehicle Mass is for my vehicle? What weight am I legally allowed to run at?
Many thanks in advance.

So please confirm the blue 2 sided Design Weight Certificate is now "The Plate"?
Would this be recognised by the French or Spanish authorities? As I plan a trip in the New Year?

As others have said the blue plate is legal and that’s what police etc will go by😊

You need to attach the new plate adjacent to the Carthago plate.

As others have said it’s 4150kgs
What appears to be missing is a designation on the blue plate of “phase” / “stufe 3”
Each plate normally has a consecutive number I.e. the chassis makers then phase 2 the converter plate, the update to 4150 would ideally carry the heading phase 3.
But, I don’t think it’s a legal requirement.

Thank you all very much, that helps me so much. Shortage of payload has been my problem, now I have another 150kg!

I haven't had problems with axle weights, it's the Gross figure of 4000kg that I was struggling with so I shouldn't have a problem, but any pointers are gratefully received 👍

I had my moho uprated by JR and then had an aluminium plate made which I have stuck to the driver's door "B" post

4150 will max out both axle weights. You will need to be extremely careful about load distribution, anything less than perfect will overload one axle.

I have had the moho to a weighbridge 5 times this year trying to get it to 4000kg and both axles are now under at 1740 and 2260 leaving me only 90kg at the front and 40kg on the rear axle now that GVW is 4150kg, so really only 130kg extra not 150kg.

icantremember if you don’t mind me asking where did you get the plate made?
Unfortunately I'm living up to my forum name

I'm looking through a pile of receipts to try and find the one and will let you know if successful. I found the supplier on line and particularly wanted it reverse stamped to raise the lettering.

Plenty on eBay but they are only legal if supplied by the company that did the uprating, but no one would know that.
Wanted one for the engine bay then I could stick the svtech one on door pilla.

I too had both our MHs uprated by the late John Ruffles.

Ballsy66. I mounted the blue DWC next to the Niesmann+Bischoff converters plate, inside the habitation entry point step, with the black and white one mounted on a piece of metal, next to the IVECO plate under the bonnet. Photo copies of both were printed off first.

Cheers,

Jock. :)
