Is the problem the tv or the battery.

We have a Yuasa battery charged by solar panel. our Finlux tv picture breaks up regularly. Sometimes if we put on the water pump or a light, but not always. The battery will be showing-a good charge. Has anyone come across this before?

Sounds like interference. If it's ok most of the time then I would not worry.

If it's interference coming in along the cable, from the pump or a fluorescent light for example, then a ferrite bead will block it. It's a hollow block of special magnetic material. It's in two halves and clips round the wire. Even better to loop the wire through twice if it will fit. Sorry about the language in the link, I'm not in UK just now: something like this:
