Having issues getting ready for the imminent spring getaway. After de-winterising, the Shurflo water filter on the 'into' side of Shurflo pump is dripping water and air is getting into the system. I have ordered a replacement to arrive tomorrow, but...

which way up does it go? We think ours may be fitted upside down - with cover upwards:

All the pictures on Nomadic Leisure & Amazon have the clear plastic cover to the mesh filter downwards. Which is right?

Chances are it may be cracked. Winter can get them. Not sure it matters which way up.

This one shows it sideways

It's better to have the filter hang down to help any crud. Also if it's on the top and full when you unscrew it it's full of water that needs catching.

Ours is upright as well, as there is no clearance to mount it downwards. With the system drained down, remove the filter cap to check for cracks.

Like you, I have 2 x sheets of kitchen towel laid under the filter and it's screw thread connections, which I keep an eye on periodically for the slightest signs of a leak. ;)

HTH,

Jock. :)
